The Press Banner and the Scotts Valley Chamber of Commerce will be joint sponsors of a public forum for Scotts Valley City Council candidates on Oct. 6.
The joint announcement was made this week by Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Danny Reber and Press Banner Editor Barry Holtzclaw.
All five council candidates – three incumbents and two challengers –  have agreed to participate in the 90-minute forum, to be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct.6, at the Scotts Valley Water District meeting room, 2 Civic Center Drive, Scotts Valley.
While details of the format are not final, Holtzclaw said it will give candidates an opportunity to make statements and respond to criticisms, and also will give voters an opportunity to offer questions.
“We will invite both the Chamber membership and Press Banner readers to suggest topics and questions for the candidates,” he said. Holtzclaw will serve as moderator of the event.
