Always-on gadgets a social turnoff

In the past 10 years, we have seen technology take a huge role in our daily lives. As a teacher, I now take attendance, post grades and create homework links online, and so on. Some forms are supposedly to make us more efficient and save time. I have seen some very scary things occurring, though.

Your Health: More cases lately of hand, foot, mouth disease

I have recently seen an increase in what is called hand, foot and mouth disease, and an increased number of cases have been reported to the county health department. Some countries outside of the U.S. have seen an even greater number of infected people.

Redwoods race this sunday

The 44th annual Race Thru the Redwoods will take place in Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park on Sunday, Aug. 19. The 10-kilometer run begins at 8:30 a.m.
