May is National Asthma Awareness Month. It is estimated that more than 8 percent of the U.S. population suffers from asthma, and the numbers are rising yearly.
Both the San Lorenzo Valley High School softball and baseball teams made it past the first round of the Central Coast Section playoffs last week, and both teams fell in the second round in tightly contested contests.

Track and field athletes from San Lorenzo Valley and Scotts Valley high schools showed well enough in Gilroy this past weekend to qualify for the Central Coast Section finals beginning today, May 25 at Gilroy High School.
