Gunner Michael Donohue, a 7-pound, 6-ounce boy, was born to Megan Lenore (Russell) and Schyler Prescott Donohue of Ben Lomond at Sutter Maternity and Surgery Center in Santa Cruz. He was born at 8:28 p.m. on June 25, 2014.

My stem cell transplant has been put off for a while until I see some improvement of severe peripheral neuropathy in my feet and legs caused by the chemotherapy I received. So I am at home biding my time and able to continue writing for the foreseeable future. I’d like to begin today a three-part series on cancer.

I’ll be moving to Oregon in a few days after a few years at the editorial helm of the Press-Banner. I’m going from one local weekly paper to another, the Wallowa County Chieftain in Enterprise, in the far northeastern corner of the state.
