The meat marinating in the Ziploc bag had caught his eye and I saw him glancing at the clock as if to question how long it would be until the contents of the bag would be on his plate.

Bare roots: What, Where and Why

I have an Autumnalis flowering cherry tree that blooms year round. The last blooming cycle started in late November and it’s still blooming now despite heavy rains. This tree came into my life 20 years ago as a bare root tree. Now, we’re old friends.

Get your financial house in order for 2016

Bay Federal Credit Union is collaborating with Watsonville/Aptos Adult Education in offering personal financial education classes on Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the GreenValleyCenter, Room 8, at 294 Green Valley Road. Although Watsonville may be a bit of a drive for North County residents, the five free classes offered once a month could make a decided difference in a person’s or a family’s financial life.
