    The summer I was five years old my Aunt Betty outfitted me in ‘berry-picking-clothes’ which consisted of my oldest pair of Buster Brown shoes, a long-sleeved shirt, and a thin rope which had an empty Hills Bros coffee can attached and tied around my waist.  I was now ready for my first berry-picking adventure.

Stay healthy – Pork product recall

On December 22, 2015 the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said that Bellisio Foods, Inc. recalled approximately 285,264 pounds of boneless pork rib shaped patty frozen entrée products that may be adulterated with extraneous materials.

The United States Youth Volleyball League is opening a season of volleyball this spring. All children between the ages of 7 and 15 are invited to enjoy instructional volleyball practices and games that focus on participation, sportsmanship, and fun.

Are the Dog Days of Summer Getting you Down?

They’re called the Dog Days of summer. You know those sultry days with the hottest summer temperatures. The Romans associated the hot weather between July 24th and August 24th with the star Sirius which they considered to be the “Dog Star” because it’s the brightest star in the constellation Canis Major (Large Dog). The Old Farmer’s Almanac uses slightly different dates but the Dog Days of summer are definitely here.
