Last weekend, some 400 people gathered at the Scotts Valley Community Center to help celebrate the Scotts Valley Educational Foundation’s three decades of service to Scotts Valley’s public schools.
Being that it’s nearly spring, I decided to check on the progress of this year’s wildflowers. I figured the back of a motorcycle was a good way to get up close and personal with the backroads of our rolling hills.
The returning numbers from last fall for Chinook salmon are promising, while future years may be of concern. The counts have come in from the Sacramento River and its tributaries and they were higher than expected.
