I walked through an Asian-inspired bamboo gate and entered another world: the world of bonsai. Some trees were blooming, others just leafing out, and some had trunks thick and gnarled, as if they'd been alive 200 years — and they had.

I begin thinking about my Irish papa, Patrick James, about this time each year. 

Both the Cougars and the Falcons are looking to improve on last years seasons as the boys golf teams take to the fairways for the 2012 season. The teams finished toward the bottom of the pack last season but plan improving this year as the younger golfers learn the finer aspects of the game.
