The Scotts Valley High School girls soccer team earned the 2011-2012 league title and netted seven of the top honors on the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League all-league team. Senior captain Jordin Carlson was crowned the Most Valuable Player in the SCCAL for her outstanding play as a defender for the Falcons stingy defense.
Little Anna was 5 years old when her mother left her with a family in a small, rocky village in the hills of Konavle, Yugoslavia. Anna remembered having a doll sent to her by her mother from somewhere in America. She never heard from her mother again.
Five wrestlers from Scotts Valley and San Lorenzo Valley high schools won individual league titles during the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League finals at Santa Cruz High School on February 17. In the team competition, Aptos won the meet with 241 points, followed by Scotts Valley with 146 points. SLV took fourth with 122.5 points.
