As of press time, warm water is moving closer to the Monterey Bay and boaters are loading up on albacore. White sea bass remain schooled up in the bay off Pajaro and Marina. Rockfish and lingcod are being caught along the coast, and the season will remain open through the end of the year.
I always say there is no better time to get out and discover wine culture than during harvest. There are only a couple of weeks out of every year when most of the grapes are being picked. In Santa Cruz County, it looks like this time is going to be in the middle of October.
