EDITOR,
In response several recent letters, Dr. Max Ebrahimian is my personal dentist. I am not a shill. I have been going to him for decades.
Dr. Ebrahimian has exercised nothing but genuine concern for my general health and dental care. Some forget that dentists are doctors with years of study behind them. An eye doctor can diagnose high blood pressure, though he is not specifically a blood-pressure specialist.
Ebrahimian is on the cutting edge of dentistry and health care. The latest in information and technology is used in his practice to benefit his patients, not his pocketbook. It is naïve to think he would not forward a patient to a specialist if the problem was beyond his capability.
Suggesting a weeklong seminar as the doctor’s only qualifications is flippant at best. No responsible physician would base his practice on a brief seminar with handouts. Seminars are meant to inform, not teach. Hundreds of hours are spent studying the materials and, in most cases, hands-on application is involved before injecting it into a practice. They do not sit on their backsides and wait for technology to overrun them.
Drs. Ariana and Max Ebrahimian are personal, caring, responsible people. I cannot enumerate all the ways they have helped me. I know for a fact that they dedicate many hours of their skills to the less fortunate, gratis.
It may be easy to criticize a person you do not know. It is easy to point a finger, condemning another, without ever speaking to them. It is hard, however, to respond to an accusation.
In our society, we are guilty unless proven innocent. It’s not supposed to be that way. Sad but true.
Medical opinions are just that. Get a second opinion if you are unsure. No responsible physician will take offense.
