The Redwood Mountain Faire will return this summer, and organizers are recruiting bands to fill the one-day festival with song and music.
There will be two stages during the daylong event — an electric main stage and an intimate, acoustic singer-songwriter stage. Each stage will feature four or five acts.
“We need to have really good headliners,” said Pam Spehar, a Valley Women’s Club member who is organizing the music. “And they need to be willing to play for free or at a reduced fee.”
Bands must donate their work because the local festival aims specifically to raise money for nonprofits in the San Lorenzo Valley, she said.
The faire will be June 5 at Roaring Camp Railroads in Felton. It returns this year in a new location after it was discontinued in 1996 following an 18-year run at Highlands Park in Ben Lomond.
Organizers are working madly to raise money and put together all aspects of the event.
Among their efforts is a Hawaiian-themed fundraiser at Scopazzi’s in Boulder Creek on at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 11.
The night will include a Hawaiian appetizer buffet, a no-host bar, a raffle and a silent auction, along with hula and swing dancing to the music of Island Breeze.
Tickets are $50 at the door, or $42 in advance at Coldwell Banker, 13117 Highway 9, in Boulder Creek or by calling 338-4300.
Proceeds will be used to help revive the fair.
