Longtime Felton resident Richard Carl “Dick” Greco died Jan. 28 surrounded by his family.
Born in San Jose, Mr. Greco was the son of Mildred (Pfeiffer) and Gaspare Greco.
He lived in San Jose until he moved to Felton in 1974. He served in the Army Reserve from 1961 to 1967 and was a Sears employee for 35 years before retiring in 1999.
Mr. Greco served and volunteered for Forest Lakes Mutual Water for many years.
An active parishioner of St. John’s Catholic Church, he was involved with many projects and celebrations and served doughnuts each week after Mass for 30 years.
Relatives described him as a gentle, loving person who was passionate about his family and had a quick wit.
Mr. Greco enjoyed woodworking and traveling with his wife and rooted for the San Francisco Giants and 49ers.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Greco of Felton; children, Scott Greco, and his wife, Kelly (McCullah), of Felton, Shelley (Greco) Romeo, and her husband, Dean, of San Jose and Amy (Greco) Paul, and her husband, David, of Scotts Valley; and eight grandchildren.
Also surviving are three siblings, William Greco of San Jose, Robert Greco of Ukiah and Linda Cooper of Cle Elum , Wash.; and many nieces and nephews.
A rosary and funeral were held Feb. 3 at St. John’s.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to St. John’s Catholic Church, 120 Russell Ave., Felton, CA 95018.
