Originally started at colleges, homecoming games later became popular in high schools and have now been a tradition for over 100 years. San Lorenzo Valley High School celebrated the 63rd year of their homecoming last Saturday, October 10, when they beat San Bruno’s Capuchino High School 28-13.
Driven by our last week’s “Cougar of the Week” QB Nick Salibi, SLV won the game. He was 15-22 for 250 yards, 3 touchdowns, 1 interception, and also had 6 carries for 25 yards. Brighton Hart had 7 carries for 72 yards and 1 TD, while the receiving corps scored 3 touchdowns: Robbie Carling had 4 receptions for 89 yards and a TD, Mike LaCapria had 3 receptions for 65 yards and 2 touchdowns.
At the game’s conclusion, the homecoming court entered the field, awaiting the announcement of this year’s royalty. The Queen was Alexandria Pooré; the Princess was Cloey Parker; the King was Mitchell Kamau; and the Prince was Mike LaCapria. Congratulation!
