San Lorenzo Valley water district to flush pipes

Customers of the San Lorenzo Valley Water District could see a bit of discolored water and might have low or no water pressure next week or early next month, when the district flushes the pipes in its water system.
The district asks customers to use as little water as possible between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on days the pipes will be cleaned.
“While we’re flushing, people could get dirty water,” said Jim Mueller, district general manager.
Neighborhoods will be flushed on the following dates:
Feb. 9 and 10
• East Zayante Road from Zayante Fire Station to East Creek Road, including side streets of Zayante School Road, Sylvan Way, Zayante Drive, Madrone Way, Creekside Way, Waner Way, Valleyview Way, Rosebloom Avenue and Westwood Road
Feb. 11 and 12
• West Zayante Road, Moon Meadow Lane, Storm Road and Hihn Road, including Larita Avenue, Morningside Drive, Archer Way, Azalea Avenue, Melin Avenue, Condor Avenue, Ridgeview Drive, Stanford Drive, Crown Drive, Harvard Drive, Kim Way, Bahr Drive, Indian Springs, East Canyon View, East Terrace Drive, and McAdams Avenue
March 2 and 3
• Lockewood Lane, including Oak Tree Villa and side streets, Caseta Way, Caseta Court, Bob’s Lane, Sugar Pine Road, Worth Lane, Fox Court, Tan Oak Drive, Locke Way, Arrowhead Way, Sterling Lane, Twin Pines Drive and Bay Laurel Court
March 4 and 5

The annual water main flushing aims to clean out iron and manganese that are deposited in the mains, which sometimes results in discolored water.
There is no health threat, but the discolored water can stain clothing and plumbing fixtures.
