Santa Cruz Pony 14U at Pacific Grove Invitational

Pacific Grove Pony fell short to Santa Cruz Pony, as Santa Cruz won the Pacific Grove Invitational 7-2.
Pacific Grove fired up the offense in the second inning, when Montana Wells singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
Santa Cruz 14U evened things up at two in the bottom of the third inning when Michaelis singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Santa Cruz 14U pulled away for good with four runs in the fourth inning. Where Nguyen homered to straight away Center Field on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, Tsukamaki then doubled on the first pitch of his at bat, scoring one run, and Michaelis’s sac fly scored another run for Santa Cruz 14U.
Pillsbury pitched a complete game Santa Cruz 14U. He allowed six hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking zero.
Rey Avila led things off on the pitcher’s mound for PG Pony Pony All-Stars. He allowed 11 hits and six runs over five innings, striking out two and walking zero. Jack Giammanco threw one inning in relief.
Wells led PG Pony Pony All-Stars with two hits in two at bats. PG Pony Pony All-Stars was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Avila made the most plays with one.
