City of Scotts Valley will celebrate Independence Day with its annual Fourth of July Parade on Scotts Valley Drive, scheduled from 11am-1pm, featuring decorated floats, vehicles, Scouts Color Guard and a flyover.
This year, the parade route has been extended to offer more viewing opportunities, starting at the intersection of Scotts Valley Drive and Carbonero Way, traveling north to El Pueblo Road, then looping back south via Civic Center Drive before returning to Carbonero Way.
Parade participants are encouraged to pre-register at bit.ly/svparadeapplication and check in at registration on Carbonero Way starting at 9:30am. Participants will receive ribbons and be directed to staging areas, which remain in the same locations as last year.
To ensure safety, spectators are asked to refrain from spraying water during the parade, as water activity has previously caused damage to electronic equipment and vehicles. Attendees should also be cautious around horses and animals, maintaining a safe distance and avoiding loud noises. Candy distribution is permitted, but candies must be handed out by designated walkers instead of being thrown from floats.
Scotts Valley Drive will be closed from Civic Center Drive to El Pueblo Road from 10:30am-1:30pm, though El Pueblo Road will remain accessible. An accessible parking and ADA viewing area will be available at 5007 Scotts Valley Drive.
