Scotts Valley officers and firefighters attended Holy Cross School’s “Cookies for Courage” event honoring first responders in Santa Cruz County on Sept. 11.

The annual event was started by a Holy Cross student right after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and the Santa Cruz school has continued the tradition almost 25 years later.

“Cookies are given to every agency who attends the ceremony, along with prayers by the students to keep all first responders safe,” stated Scotts Valley Police Department. “Everyone at the SVPD is grateful for their show of support.”
