Cardinals 16, SLV White Sox 0
The Cardinals topped the San Lorenzo Valley Little League White Sox, 16-0, in a four-inning game. Gregory Neiger led the Redbirds’ attack, driving in five runs during a 4-for-4 day in which he homered twice, raising his total for the young season to four home runs. Nic Alvarez scored three times, and Neiger, Georgia Parsons, Reese Gyllenhammer and Andrew Christensen each scored twice. Alvarez, Parsons, Gyllenhammer, Tanner Steen, Logan Hudson, Tyler Bustichi and Andrew Christensen all hit safely. Neiger also pitched, fanning nine batters in four innings of work. The White Sox got a double and a walk from Ben Kanter, and Adam Peters reached base the hard way twice by being hit by pitches.
Rangers 9, Rays 2
For the Rangers, Robert Riemer singled and walked three times, Daniel Shamshoian singled and walked twice; Conor Santos had two singles; and Kyle Raymond, Jonathan Steen and Eli Bjorklund all singled, while Travis Lane reached on two walks. Jacob Utic led the Rays, singling and walking twice and pitching the final two innings without giving up a run, while teammates Jasper Stemm, Reilly Merlo and Eric Beraut all singled.
Cardinals 2, Rangers 2 (suspended after four innings)
For the Cardinals, Gregory Neiger homered and doubled, while Tanner Steen singled early, but the Rangers came back in the third, when Robert Riemer hit a sacrifice fly to score Kyle Raymond and Jonathan Steen doubled home Travis Lane, who had singled. Lane was the starting pitcher for the Rangers, going 2-1/3 innings and striking out all seven of his outs before leaving the game with an injury. Kyle Raymond took over as reliever, throwing 1-2/3 innings with four strikeouts.
AAA Division
Cubs 4, Diamondbacks 4 (suspended after six innings)
The Cubs and Diamondbacks battled to a 4-4 tie in a game suspended because of darkness. Both teams struck out 12 batters each: Diamondbacks pitchers Nick Endres, Soren Burns and Max Smith combined for a one-hitter, while Ian Thomas and Dillon Danner split the hurling honors for the Cubs. The Cubs scored first, as Max Smith singled in two runs, but the Diamondbacks responded with a big double by Mitchell Boe. In the top of the sixth, Luke Balch walked and scored on a groundout by Daniel Thomas that advanced Vincent Beraut to third, who then stole home on a throw back to the pitcher to record the tying run.
Marlins 17, Phillies 6
Casey Collins and Zach Snider were each 3-for-3 with a walk; Kieran Ruf doubled twice; Connor Hilton singled and walked twice; Jimmy Reed doubled and walked; Jack Ponza singled and walked; Christopher Shaw singled; Dallas Eisenhut walked three times; and Joey Birlem walked twice in the Marlins’ attack. Snider struck out the side in the sixth. Myles Polito, Angelo Segretto, Ambrose Johnson and Evan Foy all hit safely for the Phillies.
Braves 6, Diamondbacks 3
The Braves scored three runs in the first inning and held off a late D’Backs rally to win, 6-3. Left fielder Asher Reynolds, despite the blinding sun, caught a high fly with two runners on base in the sixth to end the game and preserve the win. Garrett Hormel pitched four shutout innings for the Braves, allowing just two base runners and striking out six. He also had two hits, scored once and drove in one. Brody Affolter, Brendan Magee and Erik Olson had hits for the Braves, and Rob Sheard scored two runs. For the Diamondbacks, Zac Yates struck out three batters in just over an inning’s worth of work, while Nick Endres fanned four. Mitchell Boe, Shane Burns, and Max Smith all hit safely for the Diamondbacks.

Cardinals 6, SLV Giants 3
The Cardinal attack was led by Alvarez’s single and double, Steen knocking in two runs, and Neiger scoring twice while also doubling, as did Bustichi and Cameron McGrew, and Georgia Parsons and R.J. Erwin singled. Neiger went 5 2/3 innings, giving up six hits and one walk while striking out seven, while McGrew recorded the last out of the game on one pitch. For the Giants, Mat Robustelli was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI’s while Matt Siordia singled and reached base safely in all four of his at bats, and Jacub Auldridge and Elliot Brown both doubled.
Rays 12, SLV White Sox 2
The Rays’ Reilly Merlo reached safely in all four of his at-bats with two singles and two hit-by-pitches as did Jasper Stemm with a triple, two singles and a walk. Jack Kastner doubled twice on a 3-for-4 afternoon, Utic singled twice and walked and Tyler Renn had a triple and two walks. Kastner and Utic allowed only two hits while striking out 11 White Sox in this five-inning game.
AAA Division
Diamondbacks 4, A’s 3
The D’Backs outlasted the A’s in a thrilling game that witnessed four putouts at home plate. Yates pitched five stellar innings, giving up no hits and only one run. Soren Burns closed the game out and had a critical assist, throwing out a runner at the plate in the last frame as did leftfielder Jake Thornley in the third. The game ended with a bases loaded smash by the A’s Venny Petrini to the center field fence. Centerfielder Yates hit the cut off Smith who relayed to catcher Endres for the final out of the game. Shane and Soren Burns, Jacob Vehger, Smith and Matthew Wu combined for seven hits for the D’backs.
Orioles 11, Phillies 1
O’s pitchers Ben Lemos, John Sosa and Bryce Clark teamed up to allow one hit and six walks through six innings, while Lemos doubled twice.
AA Division
Knights 17, Volcanoes 11
The Knights Zephyr Christensen, Gabriel Keith and Cameron Roberson each hit doubles while turning a double play in the field as Christensen tagged out a runner heading for second and throwing to Logan Ross at first.
River Cats 15, Knights 12
The Knights were ahead most of the game with doubles by Skyler Hughett, Blake Engelking and Gabriel Keith but the Knights scored three in the sixth inning to break a 12-12 tie.
