Scotts Valley/San Lorenzo Valley Competitive Soccer Club teams recently had an outstanding weekend on the field, bringing home multiple championships from two major Halloween tournaments—the Fremont Kick-or-Treat and the Morgan Hill Thriller.
Teams from across the region competed in these spirited events, many in full costume, but it was the SV/SLV players’ skill, teamwork and sportsmanship that stood out.
At the Fremont Kick-or-Treat, two teams captured top honors: 2016 Boys Maroon and 2010 Boys White. Meanwhile, at the Morgan Hill Thriller, SV/SLV had an impressive showing with five more teams taking home tournament titles: 2012 Boys White, 2017 Boys Maroon, 2015 Boys White, 2013 Girls White and 2017 Girls White.
In addition to the champions, several other SV/SLV teams represented the club with pride, effort and competitive spirit throughout the weekend, including the 2014 Boys, 2011 Boys, 2016 Girls, and 2014 Girls teams, among others.
Club leaders praised the athletes for their dedication and sportsmanship.
“These tournaments are always a highlight of the season,” said a club representative. “It’s great to see our players compete with enthusiasm and represent our community so well.”
The Scotts Valley/SLV Competitive Soccer Club serves players from Scotts Valley, Felton, Ben Lomond, Boulder Creek and surrounding areas, offering a high-level program focused on player development, teamwork and love for the game.
“Congratulations to all the SV/SLV teams who competed and showcased the strength and spirit of our local soccer community,” stated club leaders.
