Scotts Valley stunned in overtime by Carmel 22-21

Scotts Valley came so very close to its first victory of the season against Carmel at Monterey Peninsula College, the home team got the breaks at the end.
Falcons Coach Louie Walters called for a two-point conversion in overtime to go for the win, but fell short, as his team lost 22-21.
Scotts Valley built up an early 15-0 lead, and held tough with its defensive unit.
Senior running back Tanner Gilton was first to score for Scotts Valley, running for a touchdown midway through the first quarter for his third touchdown of the season.
In the next quarter, Tyler Stow threw a 15-yard pass to Ryan Johnston to make it 12-0.
Later in the quarter, Kyle Rajala’s 33-yard field goal built Scotts Valley’s lead to 15 points just before the half.
Carmel never gave up, pushing for its first score with minutes to play, and made the extra point. They tried an onsides kick and recovered it on inside Scotts Valley territory. Carmel would score and make a two-point conversion.
After Carmel scored in OT, Stow quickly threw a second touchdown pass to Johnston, but missed the duo failed to connect on the two-point try that would have won the game.
