Sharon Rose Boumis June 15, 1943 — March 8, 2011

A private burial was conducted in Santa Cruz for Sharon Boumis, of Boulder Creek, who died in March at Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz. She was 67.
Born in Calumet City, Ill., she lived many years in San Jose, where she worked more than 20 years in sales. She retired to Boulder Creek 22 years ago and, from that time on, always had a foster child at her home. Ms. Boumis felt a strong need to help troubled teenagers, and her firm but nurturing personality helped shape better lives for those in her care, relatives said.
She is survived by her daughter, Andrea Ruth of Redwood City, and many cousins and extended family members in the Midwest.
She was buried in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Santa Cruz.
