An estimated 1,500 people showed up for the grand opening of the Scotts Valley Farmers Market, at 360 Kings Village Drive.
The market, run by the Santa Cruz Farmers Market, will be a year-round certified market, with more than 30 farms and food vendors and everything from herbs, fruits and vegetables to music, flowers and face-painting.
The market will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday.
