San Lorenzo Valley High School will be represented by a number of student athletes at the next level.
Three standout players from Doug Morris’ 2010 championship football team will move on to play for Cabrillo College. Quarterback Zack Newberry will look once again to two of his favorite receivers, Nick Gorman and Luke Roberts, when they all play for the Seahawks.
SLV point guard Blake Bechtle will go on to play basketball at Sonoma State.
Multiple-sport athlete Nick Lipperd (football, basketball, baseball) plans to attend San Diego State University and walk on as a pitcher for the Aztecs baseball team.
Jared Johnson (football, basketball, volleyball) will also attend Cabrillo College as an outside hitter on the Seahawks volleyball team.
The Cougar girls moving on to the next level are softball pitching ace Kendra Salangsang, who will pitch for West Valley College in Santa Clara, and soccer and softball standout Chere Garcia, who will play for the Seahawks soccer team at Cabrillo College.
