The Joint Hometown News Service of the Defense Media Activity in Fort Mead, Maryland notified the Press-Banner that San Lorenzo Valley High School Class of 2013 graduate Lucas C. Trader has completed basic infantry training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He is now Private First Class in the U.S. Army National Guard.
During the nine weeks of training, Trader studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
Trader is the son of Julee and Ronald Trader of Boulder Creek, California. He is also the brother of Andrea Trader.
