A small fire reported at 1:31 p.m. on Sugarloaf Road about 1/4 mile from Highway 17 was contained by 2:15 p.m.
Cal Fire crews including several planes and helicopters, the Scotts Valley Fire Department, and other local agencies responded to a small blaze in the redwood trees.
Reports by radio traffic were scattered, but the fire appeared to be less than 1/4 of an acre.
The temperature this afternoon is reported at 86 degrees and there is about an 8 mile per hour wind blowing in the area.
Temperatures are expected to be in the low 90s Tuesday and Wednesday with a high of 86 Thursday, before dipping to the 70’s for the weekend.
