Falcons top Cougars on diamond
The Scotts Valley High School baseball team defeated valley rival San Lorenzo Valley 3-1 in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League action on March 22. Senior Brenny Hillan pitched a complete game 2-hitter, striking out six Cougars. Jake Lobo had two hits and scored for the Falcons who are now 3-1 in the SCCAL after a 9-0 win over Harbor High on Tuesday March 26. In the win over Harbor, Sean Verenkamp tossed a complete game shutout and Joe Gillette went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs.
 
Cougars roll visiting team from Oregon
Billy Mullins went 5-for-5 and Jordan Peabody pitched five innings as the Cougars defeated Aloha High School visiting from Beaverton, Ore. 18-1 on Tuesday, March 26. The Cougars are 7-5 overall and 2-2 in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League play.
 
Scotts Valley tennis wins
Ian Howard, Ryan Miller, Jack Beyke and Greg Beans all won singles matches as Scotts Valley defeated Harbor High School in a SCCAL tennis match on Tuesday, March 26.
Scotts Valley will face Santa Cruz High School at home after press-time on Thursday, March 28. The Falcons are now 3-1 in league play.
