Falcon boys fall to Sharks
The Scotts Valley boys soccer team fell to St. Francis 2-1 on Wednesday, Jan. 15 in Watsonville. Scotts Valley’s Alec Paul scored on an assist from Steve Lonhart and keeper Ryan Edwards made four saves. Scotts Valley is 4-2-1 overall including 1-1 in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League play.
Cougar boys topped by Santa Cruz
Despite two goals from Jordan Peabody, the San Lorenzo Valley boys soccer team fell 3-2 to Santa Cruz High School on January 15.
The Cougars took a 2-1 lead in the second half, but the Cardinals scored two goals six minutes apart to take the game. Adam Lopez assisted on Peabody’s first goal.
SLV is now 0-8-1 on the season including 0-3 in the SCCAL.
Falcons improve to 3-0 in league
The Scotts Valley girls basketball team walloped Santa Cruz High 71-22 in SCCAL action Tuesday, Jan. 14. Senior Nadene Hart scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Falcons while Angela Silver scored 18 points with 10 steals and six assists. Scotts Valley hosts Harbor today, Friday, Jan. 17 before traveling to Aptos on Monday, Jan. 20. Both games are at 5:30 p.m.
