Baseball auction approaches
The Scotts Valley High School baseball auction fundraiser will take place from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7 at Bruno’s BBQ in Scotts Valley.
The dinner and auction is $20 in advance and $25 at the door and will feature dinner, a no-host bar, silent auction and 50/50 raffle.
Auction items include many sports tickets to professional baseball and basketball games, hotel stays, wine, sports memorabilia and jewelry and gift cards, among other items.

Falcon soccer team tops Harbor
The Scotts Valley boys varsity soccer team defeated Harbor High School 1-0 on Wednesday, Jan. 25 in Santa Cruz.
Alex Stock scored the lone goal on an assist from Noah Byrd in the 33^rd minute. The lead held up as keeper Ryan Jensen played the entire game and made nine saves.
The Falcons play at SLV after press-time on Friday, Jan. 31 at 3:30 p.m. The Falcons are 7-3-2 overall including 3-2-1 in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League play.
Organizers sought for bike ride
Volunteers are sought to help with the 12^th annual Mountain Charlie Challenge bike ride. The ride is scheduled for May 3 and proceeds benefit Scotts Valley’s public schools.
This year, in addition to the 100-mile, 100-kilometer and 50-kilometer rides, organizers plan to add a 1-mile and 10-mile ride.
