Senior bocce league has openings
Registration will run from February 18 through March 7 for the Scotts Valley spring bocce league for players 50-and-over.
Games are played at Skypark during the daytime starting March 28 and running through June 5. Each team plays once a week.
Cost is a $20 membership to the Scotts Valley Senior Center, plus $2 per game.

Cougar boys earn first win
The San Lorenzo Valley boys soccer team shut out St. Francis 1-0 on February 5 to earn their first win of the season. Senior Adam Lopez scored the game-winner on assists from Mitchell Kamau and Blaise Parker. The Cougars are 1-13-1 on the season.
Falcons top rivals on pitch
The Scotts Valley High School girls soccer team won a tight 1-0 contest over rival Santa Cruz on Tuesday, Feb. 11. Scotts Valley sophomore Allie Carl scored the eventual game-winner in the first half on an assist from Brittany Cartee. The Falcons improved to 7-0-2 in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic play with three games remaining.
