SV fall ball registration Sunday
Registration for the Scotts Valley Little League fall ball program will kick off Sunday, Sept. 27, at Siltanen Park, 127 Vine Hill School Road, in Scotts Valley.
Registration will be from 11:30 a.m. to noon for T-ball and A-ball levels and from 1:30 to 2 p.m. for AA, AAA and Majors levels.
The Fall Ball programs run from noon to 5 p.m. Sundays through Nov. 1. Cost is $30 for the lower levels and $40 for AA, AAA, and Majors. The fee includes a fall ball T-shirt and post-session Otter Pops.

SLV volleyball jumps to 2-1
The San Lorenzo Valley girls volleyball team improved to 2-1 in the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League with a 3-2 win over reigning league-champion Harbor High on Tuesday, Sept. 22. The Cougars swept Scotts Valley, 3-0, on Sept. 17 for their first league win after falling to Aptos earlier.
Learn to swish in Boulder Creek
Renowned basketball shooting instructor Tom Nordland will offer shooting clinics for the next two weekends in Boulder Creek. Clinics are for ages 11 and older.
Clinics will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 3 and Oct. 11 at Boulder Creek Recreation Center, 13333 Middleton Road.

SV tennis dates pushed back
The previously scheduled Scotts Valley Junior Team Tennis League will be from Oct. 18 through Nov. 22 for boys and girls 7 to 14 years old.
The new six-week program from the U.S. Tennis Association is set up for the beginner player.
Cost for the league is $65 and players receive a T-shirt, awards, USTA membership and an end-of-the-season jamboree.
