Sports physicals offered for high school athletes
Any high school athlete that plans on playing a sport next year needs to take a sports physical before legally being allowed to play.
Scotts Valley High School students can get theirs done on the evening of Wednesday, May 21 at the SVHS gymnasium. The cost is $25 and the forms can be downloaded from the SVHS website. For more information, contact Athletics Director Louie Walters at lw******@**************sd.org
San Lorenzo Valley High School students can attend a similar event on Thursday, May 22, between 5 and 8 p.m. at the SLVHS campus.
Students are asked to bring their completed sports paperwork with them to the exam. For more information, contact Athletics Director Mark Mercer at 335-3600.
Santa Cruz Pony Baseball announces registration
The Santa Cruz Pony Baseball organization recently announced it will hold Colt League registration and tryouts for youth 16 and under in the San Lorenzo Valley, Scotts Valley, and Santa Cruz areas.
The league season starts following the Memorial Day weekend and is open to all of Santa Cruz County. Registration fee is $200 for this division.
Colt League tryouts are Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Harvey West Park Field No. 6
