Free tennis clinic from former pro
Former tennis professional Chris Bradley is offering a free tennis clinic as part of the United States Professional Tennis Association’s Tennis Across America program.
Bradley, a Boulder Creek resident, is rounding up other pros to join him for three clinics on Sunday, April 25, at the Boulder Creek Golf and Country Club, 1601 Big Basin Highway.
The clinic has three sessions: for athletes 4 to 7 years old from 2 to 2:45 p.m.; for those 8 to 13 years old from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m.; and 14-year-olds and up from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
There will be an exhibition match between the pros at 5:30 p.m., where food and drinks will be provided.

SLV pitchers combine for no-no
San Lorenzo Valley High softball pitchers Kendra Salangsang and Allie Dempewolf pitched three innings apiece to no-hit the Harbor Pirates, 7-0, on April 13. Salangsang struck out seven and got the win, helping the Cougars improve to 14-3 overall and 4-0 in the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League. They played Soquel High, which also entered the game at 4-0, after press time on April 15.
Scotts Valley softball splits tourney
The Scotts Valley High girls softball team split a doubleheader at the Steinbeck Classic tournament on April 10.
The Falcons fell 4-0 to Notre Dame of Salinas in the first game and defeated Notre Dame of San Jose 10-0 behind three hits and three runs from Jackie Eicholz. The Falcons came out of the tournament with a 6-6 record on the season.
SLV volleyball loses, bounces back
The San Lorenzo Valley High boys volleyball team fell 3-1 to Mount Madonna High in SCCAL play April 1, but quickly bounced back in its next match, hammering Soquel High, 3-0.
Alex Parker had 15 assists for the Cougars, who lead the league with a 7-1 record and are ahead of Madonna and Aptos, which both sit at 6-2. The Cougars defeated both teams earlier this season and play at Aptos on Friday, April 16, at 6:30 p.m.
