Scotts Valley bocce falls to Los Gatos
The Scotts Valley bocce team pushed Los Gatos to the limit on May 16 but fell three games to two in the third annual Over the Hill Tournament.
Led by captain Steve Horlock and standouts Vince Nosse, Tom Walsh and Kathy Gomes, Scotts Valley pressed Los Gatos from the start.
Scotts Valley won the first game, lost the next two, and won the fourth to set up the dramatic deciding game.
“They were sweating bullets,” Horlock said of Los Gatos.
In the final game, Scotts Valley took the lead before Los Gatos stormed back for the win.
Next year, Scotts Valley will travel to Los Gatos for the contest.
