Bethany alumna joins volleyball coaching staff
Julie Meisner of Scotts Valley has been hired as the assistant women’s volleyball coach at Bethany University.
Meisner was previously a volunteer coach with the Bruins in 2008. She is a 2000 Bethany graduate who made four all-conference teams for the Bruins as an outside hitter and middle blocker. In 2009, she was the second Bruin volleyball player inducted into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
She is married to Matt Meisner, the former varsity basketball coach at San Lorenzo Valley High.

Prather football camp set for next week
Waylon and Harlan Prather will host their first football camp from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, June 18, at Cabrillo College’s Carl Connelly Stadium, 6500 Soquel Drive, in Aptos.
Boys and girls ages 7 through 17 years are invited to attend the offensive skill positions camp, which will focus on quarterback, wide receiver, running back and tight end.
The $50 cost includes a T-shirt and a snack.
