Under-9 soccer squad beats Watsonville in opener
The Scotts Valley-San Lorenzo Valley Soccer Club opened its competitive-level play for the fall season with the under-9 Girls Aftershock defeating the Watsonville Real Atletico FC U9 girls by a score of 5-1.
Eden Borkowski and Analee Josselyn scored two goals each for the Aftershock, with Macy Craft adding another goal.
The Aftershock are coached by Nicole Evans and compete in the Competitive Norcal Premier Soccer League.
Jamboree launches fall soccer season
The Scotts Valley-San Lorenzo Valley Soccer Club kicked off its fall soccer season with its annual soccer jamboree at Skypark on Saturday, Aug. 28.
More than 25 teams from around Scotts Valley and the San Lorenzo Valley participated. Each team played three short games as a sort of preseason warm-up for the upcoming season.
Jamboree players ranged in age from 6 to 13 years old, and games ran continuously from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
