Basketball clinic on tap
The Valley Basketball Skills Clinic will run from 1 to 6 p.m. Dec. 19 at the Scotts Valley High gym.
The clinic is for players age 10 and older and will focus on all aspects of basketball skill-building. Varsity players from the area will help coach the participants.

Desert Dingo Racing renews sponsor
Felton-based Desert Dingo Racing has announced that GoPro, maker of wearable HD video cameras, will renew its support for the team in 2011.
Desert Dingo Racing competes in off-road desert racing in the West and will run the official World Diabetes Day race car in the Baja 1000.
The team raises money to support diabetes awareness and education, sponsored by the International Diabetes Federation.
Poser finishes collegiate soccer
Ben Poser, 2007 Scotts Valley High grad and captain of the 2010 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Engineers men’s soccer team, finished his NCAA soccer career with a 2-0 loss to St. Lawrence University in the Liberty League Championship
During the season, Poser led the team in points (12) and assists (eight), with two game-winning goals. He also led the league in assists and was named to the 2010 All-Liberty League first team.
Poser is a mechanical engineering major.
He was previously captain of the 2007 Scotts Valley High boys’ soccer team and a member of the Santa Cruz County Breakers 88B Select Soccer team that won an unprecedented five CYSA state championships.
