Scotts Valley Little Leaguer registration open until Jan. 1
Registration for Scotts Valley Little League baseball is open until January 1, 2012. Tryouts begin on January 7. The cost is $160 per child for Single A through Majors leagues and $90 for T-ball. A $25 discount applies for siblings. For more information, go to www.eteamz.com/scottsvalleyll.
Girls’ softball tryouts
The Trouble traveling softball team will hold tryouts for girls 18-and-under fast pitch softball at the Aptos High School softball field on Dec. 4.
Tryouts for pitchers and catchers will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. and all players from 1 to 3 p.m. Last year, this team finished tied for 13th in the American Softball Association of America 16-A division at Western Nationals in Kent, Wash. Flag football champs crowned
San Lorenzo Valley Middle School students Liam Tveit and Leland King helped their competitive flag football team, The Saints, win the Central Coast NFL Flag Football Division C Championship.
The team won under the lights at Aptos High on Sunday, Nov 5. It is coached by former Aptos High football star Mike Bredy. The Saints defeated the Bears 36 – 20.
