After jumping out to a 9-1 lead, the Scotts Valley High varsity baseball team held off a late rally by rival San Lorenzo Valley High to capture a 9-6 win Tuesday, May 1.

Despite bowing out early from the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League finals, there is optimism brewing in the Scotts Valley High School boys tennis program.

San Lorenzo Valley High School senior Nick Hicks signed a letter of intent Monday, April 23, to run cross country and track for University of San Francisco. USF is a Division I program in the West Coast Conference. The men’s team finished third at the conference championship in 2011.
