Steve Vance Scott

A memorial celebration was held Sept. 8 for Steven Vance Scott, 68, who died at his home in Felton surrounded by family after a nine-month battle with cancer.
Mr. Scott worked as a film editor for NBC and as a garbage man during his life. Relatives said he was also a poet, an opera lover, a spiritual seeker and a musician. He played the ukulele, drums, harmonica, clarinet and saxophone.
Mr. Scott lived in Felton for 10 years.
He is survived by his wife, Paige Pentecost of Felton; sons, Thomas Scott of Oakland, Daniel Lewis of Vallejo and Vance Scott of Honolulu; stepdaughter, Sea Star; brother, Riley Scott of Sacramento; sister, Kathy Fowler of Corte Madera; and three grandsons.
A memorial service was held in the couple’s garden, and many relatives were in attendance among the 65 friends and neighbors who attended.
