Two summer standards, the Cops ’N’ Rodders car show in Scotts Valley and a bluegrass festival in Boulder Creek, kept locals and tourists in the Santa Cruz Mountains entertained all weekend long this past week.
With a main stage at Scopazzi’s Restaurant and stages at Joe’s Bar and Boulder Creek Brewery, music spilled from the doors of Boulder Creek businesses from July 16 to 18 as part of the Boulder Creek Bluegrass and Old-Timey Festival.
More than a dozen bands performed.
In Scotts Valley, 175 hot rods from all over the Central Coast made their way past the beaches of Santa Cruz and on to Siltanen Park, where they came to stop for judging as part of the annual Cops ’N’ Rodders car show Saturday, July 17.
Hosted by the Scotts Valley Police Department, the show raised about $7,500 for the Scotts Valley Peace Officers Foundation. The cash will support youth activities during the year, including school sports, a grad night party and Special Olympics. The foundation has donated more than $23,000 in five years.
