Half a pound of methamphetamine and a mess of stolen property was recovered from a Scotts Valley man who was arrested in Santa Cruz.
Tristan Pardee, 30, of Scotts Valley, was arrested for suspicion of narcotics for sale and possession of stolen property on July 29 by a Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit at DJ’s Market on Water Street in Santa Cruz.
Pardee was arrested for an outstanding arrest warrant and his vehicle was searched based on his court probation from a prior misdemeanor.
The deputy found about ¼ pound of methamphetamine hidden in a can containing a false bottom, two cell phones and $400 cash.
Deputies then conducted a probation search of Pardee’s home on the 100 block of Civic Center Drive in Scotts Valley and found another ¼ pound of meth, along with $4,197 cash, scales, packaging material and other items related to the sale of drugs.
The street value could be anywhere from $7,500 to $25,000 based on the method of sale, said Sheriff’s Deputy April Skalland.
Several GPS devices, cell phones, computers and cameras were found in Pardees house including GPS devices that were stolen from unlocked cars, one from the Lockewood area at the end of May and the other in Skypark on June 18.
Scotts Valley Police confirmed that these two items were part of a rash of burglaries from unlocked cars that occurred in Scotts Valley in May and June. They continue to contact the victims of those burglaries with the items that were found in Pardee’s home.
While the deputies were at Pardee’s residence they contacted his roommate Joma Dewald, 32, and friends Kayla Harris, 20 of Capitola, and Sam Eglite, 34 of Scotts Valley, and they were arrested for being under the influence of narcotics.
There was no evidence of methamphetamine being produced at the Scotts Valley home, Skalland said.
