The Scotts Valley skatepark at Skypark will be closed until June 10 at 7 a.m. after garbage vandalism has been found in the park over the past few weeks.
The Scotts Valley Police Department announced Tuesday that the park is closed after garbage from nearby trash cans, as well as large items like file cabinets and shopping carts were found thrown into the park.
The City Public Works Department has cleaned up the mess and removed the large items from the park.
As a result of the recent vandalism, the park was closed at 7 a.m. Tuesday morning and will remain closed until 7 a.m. on Friday.
This is not the first time the park has been closed due to vandalism. However, in the past the closures have resulted after racist graffiti vandalism was found in the park.
