Nature Discovery Park gets community input

Getting kids out of the classroom and into nature has long been held by teachers and parents as the best approach to teaching the fundamentals environmental science. The planning for a Nature Discovery Park for children directly adjacent to the new community library in Felton takes this approach to another level- kids can use the park and the library without needing a ride between them, and will have access to both traditional educational materials and outdoor education at the same place.

Felton Library scheduled to break ground in late summer

Patience, persistence, luck and the hard work of many people over several years have brought the dream of a new branch library in Felton to fruition. But there’s more than just a new library - the project will include a Nature Discovery Park in the wooded areas and around Bull Creek next to the new library that will be an outdoor environmental education center designed mostly for children. All this is scheduled to break ground late this summer.    

New chapter for Felton library designs

Though still about six months away from ground breaking, the new $8.6 million Felton Library has entered into contract with a local artist to grace the walls with colorful hand-crafted butterflies.
