Tell Us Who Is The Best of The Best

Since launching Faves & Raves in 2007, the Press Banner has sought to highlight the best establishments in Scotts Valley and the San Lorenzo Valley. This year, we make the pivot to the Best of Scotts Valley and San Lorenzo Valley, determined by the astute guidance of local experts: our readers.

Voting is now open and will run through March 25. Winners in the San Lorenzo Valley will be announced on April 22 and Scotts Valley winners will be unveiled on May 20.

All voting for this year’s Best of will be online at pressbanner.com.

Tried-and-true categories such as the best locations to get breakfast, dinner, sushi and a burger return. In addition, we’re now asking the community to name the best places to go out on date night, as well as the best new restaurant to have sprung up in your neck of the woods. Also new this year are categories for the best venue, including the best music and wedding venues and the best retreat center.

My favorite new category is the best outdoor patio dining. With the beautiful summer weather on the horizon, I can’t wait to visit some of the Santa Cruz Mountains’ best outdoor dining locations.

We hope this contest serves as a platform to highlight the businesses, people and organizations that are doing things the right way. Although that is always our intention, we feel that Best of is more important than ever this year. Covid-19 restrictions are loosening and more people are beginning to step out of their doors and back into the doors of businesses around town. These folks will want some advice as to where to spend their hard-earned dollars, and there is no better advice than that of the community.

So let your neighbors know what businesses deserve their patronage, and help the community continue its rebound from the pandemic.
