There are new screens up on the tennis courts at the Boulder Creek Golf and Country Club, where tennis instructor Chris Bradley hopes to renew excitement about the sport in the San Lorenzo Valley.
Bradley will start teaching tennis at the country club at the beginning of August.
As a longtime United States Professional Tennis Association instructor, Bradley, a Boulder Creek resident, is well-versed in teaching tennis to all ages.
His resume includes USPTA Northern California Coach of the Year and Professional of the Year awards among other honors.
Bradley has coached since 1975 and has directed tennis programs all over the Bay Area. He’s worked at Alpine Hills Tennis and Swimming Club in Portola Valley for more than 35 years and served as tennis director for 28 of those years.
At Boulder Creek, he plans to host clinics for children ages 4 through 7 and 8 through 13, as well as private lessons for teens and adults.
At Alpine Hills, Bradley’s juniors program won more than 125 local league championships, 16 US Tennis Association Junior League Nor Cal Championships and 10 state titles.
He hopes eventually to work with the owners of the club to resurface the courts.
Bradley is a 1972 Stanford graduate and spent 18 years helping organize fundraisers for that university’s tennis program.
