EDITOR,
I am one of the Boulder Creek residents who have been affected by the Highway 236 closure. I would like to thank Caltrans and the construction company employees for their efforts to work with our local Santa Cruz County representatives, listen to our concerns and open Highway 236 to one-way traffic controls ahead of schedule.
Additionally, I would like to thank Supervisor Mark Stone and the county Public Works Department for allowing for some very open communication with the residents involved and for their representation on our behalf with Caltrans.
Lastly, words cannot express the appreciation I feel towards the Acorn Drive residents who had to deal with 24-hour traffic, 2,500 vehicles per day, passing through their community. You represent the best of what true community spirit is and what makes the San Lorenzo Valley such a wonderful place to live.
