“The Comedy of Terrible Errors” follows the journey of Riley, who is the student director of Shakespeare’s “The Comedy of Errors.” Riley is living a nightmare: one lead actor doesn’t know his lines, another lead actor is having an ill-advised showmance, they’re not allowed to touch the set, and the actors with small roles are about to mutiny for more stage time. It all comes crashing down in this hilarious adaptation of Shakespeare’s 28th-most-loved play.
Calden has been participating in theater since she was 8 years old. She has been involved with SLV theater since middle school and has also worked backstage at Little People’s Repertory Theatre. Her favorite roles include Mayzie (“Seussical”), Crystal (“Little Shop of Horrors”) and Elle Woods (“Legally Blonde The Musical”).
Calden has been in the SLVHS theater class for two years. Beyond acting, she has also worked as props master, hair and makeup, backstage crew, and now a co-director; as a director, she has experienced a little bit of everything in the production process and has a new appreciation for all of the elements that go into a show.
Spracklen has loved theater for much of his life and was most recently the sound designer and mic board operator for the SLVHS Theatre Department’s production of “Legally Blonde The Musical.” He also was lighting designer and light board operator for the SLV Charter production of “Peter Pan.”
Spracklen has been involved in charter productions since sixth grade, and has worked on other local school shows as a body mic assistant, backstage crew and follow spot operator. He also worked on LPRT’s production of “Snowdo White and the Fellowship of the Mirror” as the lighting assistant and follow spot operator.
“The Comedy of Terrible Errors” is produced by special arrangement with YouthPLAYS.
