Heavy wind and rain have knocked down trees and wires throughout Scotts Valley and the San Lorenzo Valley today. Fire, PG&E and county crews are scrambling to keep roads clear during the storm. Highway 9 in Brookdale and Boulder Creek has been blocked by fallen trees and lines during the day and officials recommend residents keep driving to a minimum during the storm.
**A flash-flood warning has been issued along the San Lorenzo River at about 3:15 p.m.
**Highway 9 South of Irwin Way is closed as a tree fell across the road at 2:27 p.m. knocking out power lines in the area.
**Trees knocked down wires on Lower Glen Arbor Road at Highway 9 in Ben Lomond at about 12:50 p.m. today.
**Wires are reported down on Highway 236 at Big Basin in Boulder Creek at 2:39 p.m.
**Wires are reported down at Laurel Avenue in Felton at 2:33 p.m.
**Highway 17 and Highway 1 southbound have been slowed by accidents in Santa Cruz. An accident occurred at 2:15 p.m. on the fishhook on Highway 1 southbound.
**A tree fell on a moving vehicle on East Zayante Road near the intersection of Quail Hollow Road.
**A tree fell on La Madrona Drive blocking the roadway. A car accident also occurred.
**Wires fell at Blue Ridge Drive and Kings Creek Road in Boulder Creek at 1:57 p.m.
**Wires were knocked down on Highway 9 in Brookdale, blocking the road at about 2 p.m.
**Wires were knocked down on Bear Creek Road at View Drive in Boulder Creek at 2 p.m.
**Wires were knocked down by a tree on Fall Creek Drive near Highway 9 in Felton at 2 p.m.
**Trees knocking down wires on Glenwood Drive near Sandhill Road in Scotts Valley at 2:15 p.m.
**Conference Drive in Mount Hermon is being cleared after a major slide blocked the roadway yesterday.
