Attorney re-appointed as probate referee
Scotts Valley attorney Victor M. Campos was recently re-appointed by the Office of the State Controller to a 4-year term as probate referee for Santa Cruz County.
Campos resides in Scotts Valley with his wife Kellie and two children.
Airmen graduate training
Air Force Airman 1st Class Rebekah Chase has graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas.
Chase is a 2008 San Lorenzo Valley High School graduate and the daughter of Paula and Gerald Spiegel of Ben Lomond.
Additionally, Air Force Airman Katherine Rovegno graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San-Antonio-Lackland.
She is a 2009 Harbor High School graduate and the daughter of Carol and Andy Rovegno of Santa Cruz.
Air Force Airman Kiah Shelley also graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.
Shelley graduated from Cypress Charter High School in Santa Cruz in 2011 and is the son of Barbara Shelley of Boulder Creek.
The airmen completed an intensive 8-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.
Pvt. graduates combat training
Army Pvt. William Engelking graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.
Engelking is a 2011 Scotts Valley High School Graduate and the son of Leslie Engelking of Scotts Valley. During the 9 weeks of training, Engelking studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship and many other skills.
Local named to dean’s list
Kyle Stagnaro of Boulder Creek was named to the Biola University Dean’s List for maintaining a grade point average of at least 3.6 in the fall quarter.
